How To Play Video Poker

Objective of the Game
Video poker is like a multi-spin slots game based on poker. The player is initially dealt five cards. The objective is to get the highest possible poker hand ranking according to the payout table given. In order to achieve this objective the player is allowed to hold any number of the dealt cards and change the rest. After the cards have been changed the final hand is compared with the payout table to see if the player has won and if so then how much.

How To Play Video poker
The player first inserts the coins or the purchased paper ticket into the machine in order to credit his account with a starting balance. He then chooses the denomination of the wager and the number of coins wagered by clicking the appropriate buttons. The denominations vary from machine to machine but the number of coins varies from one to five. The machine subtracts the amount wagered from his balance. If the player has chosen $1 as the denomination and wagered 3 coins then $3 will be debited to his account.

By clicking the “deal” button the player is dealt five cards. The player can selects the cards he wants to hold by clicking on the hold button below each card. If the player wants to reverse his decision he can do so by clicking on the held cards again. Then by clicking the “draw” button the remaining cards are replaced and the player is left with the final hand. If the hand features in the payout table the players account will be credited by the amount won. If the payout for the particular hand is 9 to 1 and the player has wagered $3 then his account will be credited by $9 plus the original wager of $3.

The player then has three options. He can play again with the same wager by clicking the “replay” button. His wagered amount will be deducted from his balance and fresh five cards will be dealt to him. If the player wants to continue playing but with a different wager then he needs to click the “reset” button and then follow the same procedure as earlier. Or the player can cash out by clicking the “cash” button. The coin type machine will dispense the required number of coins in the tray. The ticket type machine will print out his winnings, which can be collected from the cash counter.
